MY STORY

In 2005 I “found” an ebook on Ebay about working from home using the computer. I was really intrigued. I had been an entrepreneur for years.

Before the Internet became a household item, I printed a medical review publication that duplicated abstracts from over 30 different medical journals in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

I had enough subscribers from all over the US to support the business. The medical journals were happy that I was providing this service and sent me their journals without cost.

And then the Internet developed to a point where my services were outdated and over-priced. After all, my customers could get the same information on Medline, for free.

I then developed a gift basket business. After 2 years I was working with a broker who garnered an account with Hallmark. During 2001 Christmas season, I provided 7 different baskets for Hallmark on their retail website. We did $12,000.00 in business in less than 30 days.

In 2001 that was lots of money. And it still is – because he embezzled the money and I was left holding the bag.

After a judgment against him in court, he disappeared.

For the next several years I worked as a staff nurse at the local Children’s Hospital.

Once the Internet bug bit me I was hooked. I was intrigued by the idea that I could work at home, take care of my children, continue to homeschool and still sleep.

The first year I built my first website I made little money. In fact, it seemed more like a hobby than a business. But I took it all seriously and continued to study, learn and research. I found the Warrior Forum, learned how to write ezines, mastered autoresponders, and studied affiliate marketing.

At the end of the second year, in the middle of a botched surgery that required emergency surgery 3 days later, I opened my first membership – PLR-Health-Wizard. It seemed like a great bridge between my medical knowledge (and love of medicine, health and wellness), my skill as a writer and my growing knowledge in marketing.

In the next two years I’ve developed other sites, participated in Joint Ventures, garnered affiliate partnerships with some of the big name ‘gurus’ and managed to home school four children and pay the bills.
