How Do YOU Use Public Domain Content?
A couple of weeks ago I had a conversation with Tony Laidig of Public Domain Blog (which he graciously allowed me to record) and we talked about some of the different ways to creatively use Public Domain content and a good number of places to find it.
Public Domain (PD) material is content of some nature (written word, photography, documents) which has lost copyright protection. Essentially this means that you can acquire the content and use it in specific ways to infuse new life into your business or create a whole new business.
Public Domain content has a few great advantages in many different markets – agriculture, gardening, pets, personal development, psychology, fitness etc. Tony and I talked about some of the different ways that the content could be used and some of the more creative ways he has put it to good use.
Some of the ways that PD content can be integrated into a business is to use content from magazines and books for blog posts and ezines; pictures in the PD can be printed and sold (such as dog breeds or landscapes) or used to create calendars or content can be repurposed into ebooks especially in sports and personal development arena.
