Help Others and You Will Help Yourself

Recently I spoke with the owner of BurgBuzz.com, a community portal out of Virginia, USA.  Laura and I chatted on a recorded line about her inspiration to build a community portal, the challenges she faces and her plans for the future of this site.

One of the comments she made about building this business was dead on – not just for this model but for ANY business model that we attempt.

She said, and I paraphrase, that when she built the site it was to be of service to the community.  She acknowledged that she does want to monetize the site and make money but her FIRST intention was to help others.

(Her interview will be posted inside the membership this next month)

Listen to any truly successful business person who intends to stay in the same business – online or offline – and you’ll hear the same undercurrent.  There is always a desire to help others while reaping the monetary benefits of sharing value with their clients.

Some online guru’s tell who ever is listening that if you give away your best secrets or knowledge that people will trust you and buy from you.

But that’s just a bit skewed for me.  I don’t mind giving away my best information but I want to do it when it can help others -NOT with the intention of selling something.

Of course I want to sell something.  But I always want to be sure that the people who purchase are happy with what they have, can use it appropriately and that I am delivering massive value.

This is why The IM Learning Center membership will always be less than the cost of a large pizza.  I want all who WANT the information and knowledge to be able to afford it.

While others are weeping about the economy or the sorry state of their finances The IM Learning Center offers an alternative for those want to make a change in their lives.
