Are Your Marketing Efforts Stuck?
Are you stuck?
We are close to mid-way through the year and it struck me the other day, am I close to the goals I set for the year?
There are a little over 6 months of working time left in the year and it’s a great time to re-evaluate the programs and projects I had planned for 2009.
Actually planning projects a year in advance is something that I wouldn’t have considered just 2 years ago. 2 years ago I was wondering how I was going to make it through the end of the week, much less the end of the year.
I had 10 projects lined up and I wanted to do all 10.
I was, and still am, overwhelmed with the number of ideas that float around in my head. As I lay awake at night I can flesh out a marketing plan or product creation as I’m drifting off to sleep.
My ‘stuckness’ when I started my company, was in the overwhelming number of directions I could travel. There were digital products, physical products, Yahoo stores, mastering PPC or article marketing, developing videos, doing podcasts, interviews, memberships, ebooks and manuals, drop shipping, eBay, WSOs, classified adds, lead generation, CPA or CPL, offline marketing, working with small businesses and over 100 niches I could list off the top of my head.
No wonder I was stuck. Who wouldn’t be?
And yet, it’s a story I’ve heard time and time again. You only have to read a couple of posts on any IM forum and you’ll find people who have bought 100s if not 1000s of dollars of products – all which sit on their virtual shelves.
They may have read through the first 30 pages before they were off and running again with the newest technique to trick Google.
The trick is actually not to attack Google but to attack yourself instead. It took the help of a dedicated friend who understood my ADOS (see below – relative to ADD). She had the patience to sit me down and help me tease out the factors I wanted and didn’t want in my company.
So, are you stuck? Do you feel you’re traveling in 10 different directions and getting no where fast?
You aren’t alone. BUT - in order to make progress you MUST find a way to break the cycle you’re currently in.
